This project introduces selected Malaysian languages as living forms of communication connected with real people, communities, histories, and places. Learning should never turn a community into a curiosity or reduce a living culture to a collection of objects.
The languages presented here belong to living communities. They should not be treated as costumes, decorations, historical relics, or entertainment. Cultural material is presented to support understanding of the people and places connected with each language.
Not every tradition, object, ceremony, story, or form of knowledge should automatically be placed online. Material that may be sacred, restricted, private, or sensitive requires greater care and should not be presented simply because it is available somewhere on the internet.
Photographs, maps, videos, and research materials should be connected to their sources wherever possible. Historical artworks should be identified as historical representations, and images should not be presented as evidence of present-day life when they are not.
A language name can include regional and local differences. This is especially important for language traditions such as Bidayuh. Learning material should identify the variety being taught instead of presenting every community as if it speaks in exactly the same way.
A digital learning resource cannot replace fluent speakers, community knowledge, or full linguistic documentation. Material under development should remain clearly marked as under review until it has been checked against reliable sources and, where possible, reviewed with appropriate speakers or community contributors.
Language and cultural information can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Corrections should be welcomed, reviewed carefully, and supported with context or reliable evidence. Community knowledge should not be dismissed simply because a digital resource is already published.
